Personal life

Prince is a famous singer, instrumentalist and songwriter who was born Prince Rogers Nelson on June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was named after a jazz band the Prince Roger Trio in which his father performed. Prince was signed to Warner Brother Records when he was a teenager.

Prince had many ups and downs in his personal life like any other human being. He has been romantically involved with a number of celebrities including Kim Basinger, Madonna, Sheila E., Vanity, Susanna Hoffs, Carmen Electra, and many more. He was engaged to Susannah Melvoin in 1985. On the Valentine’s Day of 1996, he married his backup singer and dancer Mayte Garcia. They had a son named Boy Gregory. Their son had the rare Pfeiffer syndrome due to which he died only a week after his birth. The couple later divorced in 1999. Prince married Manuela Testolini in 2001. On May 2006, they parted ways as well. In 2007, Prince had a short-term relationship with Bria Valente.

Prince became a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2001, which is a distinct religious body, different from the mainstream Christianity. He was inspired by his fellow musician Larry Graham. He attends meeting of this group at a local Kingdom Hall and preaches his belief to people occasionally. Prince needed double hip-replacement surgery since 2005, probably due to constantly dancing in high-heeled boots on stage. But he denied doing the surgeries as Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t accept blood transfusions. The story about his double hit surgery is not yet confirmed to be true.

Prince is a vegan and he has expressed his impression on animals in his album ‘Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic’ where he put a message about the cruelty involved in wool production. If you look at it, you can see that Prince has a very interesting life.
