Prince Celebrities reveal what they know (or would like to know) about his Royal Badness.

Prince is self-admittedly a "very loving kind of guy." His lyrics, from the begin-ning, have been very sexy. But what kind of a lover is Prince, really? The following women offer their opinions...

MADONNA: "Prince is the kind of guy who’ll do anything for at-tention, and people think it's al-ways cute. I mean, he could jump up on a stage, naked, and get good reviews for it. Whereas if I go on the stage and show a little cleavage, half the world is writ-ing that I must be a disreputable character. That’s how sexist it all is! As a lover, I think Prince is probably very tender. But I think he has a fear of revealing his tender side. He prefers for people to think he's a lot more macho than he really is."

SHEILA E: "Prince is very fun-loving. And he's got guts – obviously. He likes people, and he values some people’s opinions. But he isn’t that concerned about fitting in. He'd rather forge his own route, his own destiny. And I think that men with that kind of confident, iconoclastic attitude make better companions and lovers. Anyway, Prince is very appealing to a lot of people, each of whom have their special fan-tasies about him, and I don’t think one should interfere with another person's fantasies, because that’s a very private, special thing."

VANITY: "What kind of  lover is Prince? Simply the best! You want details' Forget it! I’ll tell you this: Prince may be small in stature, but he’s a giant in the musical world. See, he thinks big, and that’s his secret. When he wasn’t that well known, he had the same kind of confidence he has today, and he was so certain that some-day he'd make it to the top. When I first met Prince, the most attractive thing about him was this kind of confidence; it was in-fectious. He's probably the most exciting star I've ever known."

APOLLONIA: "The man is a fox! Those liquid eyes of his could make the hardest heart melt. And he has a body – it’s like a miniature version of a Greek god. He has a lovely complexion, and he grooms himself all the time; he is rather vain, but only because he feels an obligation to his fans. Some singers, like Willie Nelson, don't care what they look like. Prince really does, and he’s a peacock  the peacock of the species. He's also very romantic. He treats his friends like he’s courting them. He loves to send flowers and buy them little surprises, and celebrate every holiday and anniversary. The one thing he doesn't do is give women candy   because that would ruin your shape, and his. Heaven forbid!"

CYNDI LAUPER: "Prince is not a real close personal friend of mine, but we know each other, and admire each other as performers. I don't know if I could guess what kind of lover Prince is. My guess is, he's hot to trot all the time, and he's not gonna hang around one person very long. So if any of you girls are hoping to tie him up – metaphorially-speaking, of course! – dream on. Just don’t hold your breath. I don't think he’s the marrying kind. He's too busy having fun... "

MARY LAMBERT (VIDEO/ FILM DIRECTOR): "Prince ap- . peals to people on a visceral level. He's everything he's not supposed to be, and some people are outraged by him. But he's rich and famous and successful, and has millions of fans. He takes a stand, and he's innovative. You may not like the guy per-sonally, but you've got to admire his guts, and he always leaves you wondering what he’s going to come up with next. That’s what makes an enduring star."

LISA BONET: "If I had to image what kind of a lover Prince really is, I’d have to say he’s the sort of guy who cares about the woman he's with. First of all, he's not in-timidated by her, even in spite of his short height. And he likes her to feel comfortable, and goes out of his way to make her feel attractive. But I’ll just bet he's really a male chauvinist cd heart  just look at his movies! Even so, there’s something about the little guy that makes you want to pro-tect him, and that makes women want to kind of mother him."

FRANCESCA ROBERTS (CO STAR FRANK S PLACE: "Listen, I was a Prince fan starting 10 years ago. I think it would be awfully nice to have a date with Prince. From what I’ve heard, he's a big spender, he’s fun to be with and he makes a lady feel... like a lady, honey! I like all kinds of men  younger, older, short, tall – but being kind of big my-self, I don’t always wear high heels. Prince sometimes does. But, hey, if we went on a date, we could both go barefoot. Anything goes!"
