Review of Martika: Martika’s Kitchen
Martlka’s been brushing up on her culinary skills this time, people, because this is a healthy brew with added leeks and proper Ingredients like that. This is probably all because it was co-written by Prince (who’s good at other people’s tunes and useless at his own). Obviously, she’s not really singing about cookery techniques, it being a witty metaphor for lerve, romance and the pervesque (hello, Prince Influence). “Plingy dring plongt Zing
zong zangalangi” goes the backing and everyone raises their left feet for the disco conga (plus Hammond organ solo) and falls over at the end ‘cos it was so energetic. Hoorah for the spooks!
