Last night, Prince stopped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno for Installment No. 1 of his three-night stint as the show's musical guest; he'll be performing one song from each of his new albums, and last night was Mplsound's turn. "Old School Company" is a biting bit of politically tinged funk that jumps off the ending of "Purple Rain" and into some bon mots about The Way Things Are Now. (But hey, Jay, why didn't you plug Prince's Web site, where you can get the three records now? Or is this appearance just one big co-op ad with Target?) [YouTube (for the next few minutes, anyway)]
