Lakeside: Relationship

From the 1987 LP “Power”, which also included the hit single “Bullseye”. “Relationship” was unusually funky for the time period and even if I miss the horns, it has the typical Lakeside sound I love, a great deal of that is lead vocalist Mark Adam Wood, Jr.. The message in the song was an appeal to think twice about unprotected casual sex, HIV/AIDS was and still is a deadly disease. “Relationship” is written by Brown Mark (Mark Brown) for “Mazarati Music” publishing, which explains the Minneapolis sound. Mark of course is the same guy that played bass in Prince’s Revolution Band (replaced AndrĂ© Cymone) and is a founder and producer of the band Mazarati. He is still very much active in the music biz. I never heard this omg what a great song, found the link on her Facebook page cool way for sharing the love we have for Ms Jody she to me is so underappreciated. She used her still a thrill voice and it reminds me of TLC and i read Tboz was inspired by her to sing low awhile back. I’m at work feeling a bit of negatvity from a couple coworkers, I need this song on my iPod now. I’m blown away i thought i knew all her songs how was this not a hit? Good job on this

Wut up Kemett? Jody asked that we checkout ur efforts as well as leave a comment. Affection is my favorite JW album/cd and this jam brings back great memories. I can see where Tboz gets her inspiration. U gotta love it when a woman breaks it down with such bass in the vocals! Wouldn’t u agree? Dig the video! Keep the party movin’!
