@thedragonb, Yep these are the first ones Simmons made, the SDS-5. i was using two combined sets. You still have one of these sets? Does it work? My hands used to bleed.,
Yea, the SDS 5 – Still works. The damn shells never stay on. Glue marks on it from the previous owner. Dual zone snare 3 pads plus kick. The Brain has drums from Prince’s Girls and Boys (Under The Cherry Moon). Rubber coating on the beater area on the kick but it still worked. I can believe the abuse your hands got! It’s basically a piezio laid over rubber coated ply wood! You do have to hit those mofos hard to make sure they triggered. And it looks like you are slammin’ them pretty hard! Haha!
@thedragonb, i remember we took that SDS-5 Brain into the shop and had them mount a large plug wired into the brain so we could connect the old Oberhiem DMX drum machine to the simmons. I think that’s the way it went, yes, yes that’s it.
i remember i could have the DMX trigger the Simmons brain. But i wished it was the other way around.
killer solo,plus you knew how and when 2 use the effects!!!!!!! can u please upload the video of the players,you were on the drums and st.paul peterson was on guitar,the song was i didn’t mean to turn you on,y’all rocked and the bass solo was killer also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@brandondmc85, I’ve just been super busy trying to get 3 million things done. I was able to get a few songs of the players, LATER VERSION BAND up here but please give me time as some day i will be adding HD videos of all the tunes. Thanks for your interest.
