I didn’t really care 4 the video either but this was when black music videos were becoming more mainstream by using rotaing cameras and sometimes picture flash mediums not to mention some brief black and white shots! Kool & The Gang’s “Stone Love” and O’Bryan’s “Tenderoni” uses the same mediums as this clip. Ditto for steve Lindwood’s “Higher Love” although hes a rock artist. The medium was poplular from late 1986 up until 1989!

I had thee biggest crush on Jesse Johnson! Loved this song in ’87. He was a major part of “The Time.” It wasn’t just about Morris Day, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Thanx for adding this.

I don’t care for the video much but seeing Jesse cut on the solos (from the 12 inch) rememeber iin the 80′s when the Minneapolis bands would put a b- side song not the album and the extended version and radio would play the b- side too. No musican today would could have a b- side as strong as their album side.

I like how this songs demonstrates how solid Jesse’s music was.
I think tho that his lyrics/themes needed more depth and/or uniqueness of style in order to push away from Prince’s shadow.
I was always rootin’ for the guy.
