Well, he was another one of MANY prince’s “proteges”..
thanx 4dis1.
Andre has some great talent & music, he is not a Prince clone. They grew up together, Prince lived with Andre on & off as a youth. They wrote together & developed a similar sound. “Do me baby” by Prince was a Andre Cymone groove & Prince gave Andre “Dance Electric”. They rubbed off on each other, thats why they sound alike.
Cymone was born in Minneapolis, the son of Fred Anderson, a musician, and Bernadette, a social worker. Cymone the youngest of 6 children.soon he had an additional member — a young Prince who left his own home due to conflicts with his stepfather. Prince’s cousin,”Chazz” Smith started a band called Grand Central and invited Prince and Cymone, later renamed Champagne and included Cymone’s sister Linda and Morris Day. Cymone’s stage name comes from a variation of his middle name, Simon.
