This and Dont let the Future come down were my favorite. Loved the bass in this song it use to remind of give your love to me by Janet Jackson.
@Cosmictalk Can somebody explain why he wasnt a big hit. His musical direction was pretty good. this song is a hit.
@imsolive89 Lets just say although Prince help all of his Boi’s He never let them get a step ahead. BTW can you see Prince in the Crowd of people wearing his Purple Rain Sun Glasses. (right under Cymone letters between the guy & gurl).
@Cosmictalk no not really probably need a bigger picture , but i thought his albums except AC was a break from prince, as prince didnt like him leaving like when he made that diss “we dont like new wave”
@imsolive89 the wasnt ready for black new wave
good music. I all ways liked his number one songs.
@trufunkSoulja1 what the hell is black new wave? If FLock of Seagulls did this same song, would it be black new wave?
@npgfunk lol just like Mother’s Finest radio and the industry didnt want to except a black rock band, Andre was the only mainstream black new wave artist at that time, and radio and mtv didnt want it! because he was black and doing new wave. if he was just doing the funk thing like everybody else, maybe his career would have gone futher. they just wasnt ready for him. he made out better being a producer than being a artist and that was his calling. not everybody should be the frontman
Andre was a friend to Prince…but Prince had the gift of vision in art.
I wore this tape out back in the day! One of my all-time faves! ‘Dre didn’t get his due as a bassist!
Oh hell yeah!!
THIS IS SHIT HOTT!!
can everybody feel it!
wow…if you guy’s only knew the REAL deal behind all of these songs. THIS song was about me. Maybe one day I’ll write the book on this dude.
I remember recording this song off the radio back in Sept. of ’82 and for years I never knew who the artist was until I found a website where I e-mailed my recording and finally found the answer. The website said that if you can’t find it here, you ain’t gonna find it..
Funky ass jam! This is always fun to play on bass guitar.
