My man Andre! Where are you dude? When I 1st heard “Dance Electric” on the radio, I went crazy!!!! That’s what real music used to do to U!

  2. MissSheilaBeila says:

  3. kunsura says:

that is a true homie to stick around until someone gets established, whatever happened to this?

  4. eracism09 says:

He was once married to Jody Watley, and I think they have a child together.

  5. cllamont says:

Donnie Simpson is the cheesiest black man alive. I swung into the drive thru of the Taco Bell off LaBrea in Hollywood late one night and Andre Cymone handed me my burrito – times had gotten hard for the brother.

  6. vadiva30 says:

@cllamont You are not for real. LOL!!! Next time take a picture I don’t believe you.

  7. soulalone2010 says:

  8. marcusrob02 says:

Can somebody…ANYBODY..posts more early 1980s Video Soul interviews/episodes???? or ANY and EVERYTHING from BET in the early 80s? I’m dying to see, lol.

  9. buttascotchbro1 says:

  10. freek373 says:

Andre left because Prince stole Controversy from him and he got tired of kissing his lil arrogant azz

  11. pageonederful says:

U gotta give him credit for helping his ex-wife to get her 1st Grammy.

  12. soulchildsacomin says:

Wow this is super rare! This was back when Video Soul was in a black background (with a scipture fonts that says Video Soul) which was used from 1983 to about 1986. I wanna see more episodes of Video Soul from 1983-84 plus the interviews (New Edition and Gap Band interviews are the most sought after).

  13. Chapelleboo19 says:

  14. kevjev says:

  15. larrybfresh20 says:

    @cllamont Seriously?

  16. ednoroirika says:

    @kevjev Same demeanor and all.

  17. vincedelgato says:

Andre is not being entirely honest here – there’s more to his leaving than what he says here. Regardless – cool trip down memory lane – thanks for posting! ~j

  18. Sandy2J says:

Prince’s version on 3-CD set called “The Jewel Box” birthed this oh so funky track. Monster club banger.

  21. mazaratialbum says:

well it was really andre, andre’ is on the vocal of the song, wendy and lisa too….did you ever check out the dance electric version of prince?…it was “briefly” on youtube but after like 2 weeks it was taken down….i have it, i work at a radio station in houston and i record from the computer to the studio…..had prince fully produced da song his would have sounded a lot better : )……prince uses his “camillie” voice and the song has a higher pitch to it….it’s jamming. : )

  22. mazaratialbum says:

theyhad prince’s version of this ong on youtbue but da shiot got taken off…..thank god i recorded it before they did. : )

  23. QuiXuLambstetter says:

Where’s all of Prince’s old homies now?

  24. Redbolski says:

This was a Prince cut…..he gave this to dude!

  25. ROGERTROUTMAN1 says:

@mazaratialbum – I’m talking about the BEATS, not the lyrics. I really don’t think Prince came up with every single hook, baseline, drum sequence, etc. that came out of Minneapolis.

  26. mazaratialbum says:

owh well yeah in that case i agree…..i know andre’ helped prince out with a lot of tracks back then…..i agree : )

  44. Carla08120812 says:

This song just brought my 10 year old into the room in her full “running man” mode. Nothing like Prince-programmed, Minneapolis drum thump! Then Prince on lead guitar at the end. Whoo!
