Pretty good quality video, but still from my old VHS-tapes. A DVD-release wouldn’t hurt.
This is from AndrĂ©’s third album “AC” released in 1985. The song was written by Prince. I personally were into his first and second album more. Especially “Living In The New Wave” from 1982 blew me away.
Video Rating: 0 / 5

@bigdaddy45able No it came out the summer of 1987.Because i have the 12 inch at home.

@byronbenguche Thank you,1985 was a great year for popular music.
Is that Wendy & Lisa on back-up vocals?
Bigdaddy45able , I agree with you brother! 1984-1985 was such a good year. It was my freshman year in high school and I reminense so much about that year. I enjoyed that year more than my senior year in 1988. Every morning before school that fall of 1984, I use to listen to this song before catching the bus. I would do anything to go back just for one day. Who wants to go back with me. This time I will bring the liquor. (lol)
1985! I was 20 yrs old. This was a huge club hit. It went to #3 on the R&B charts The song would pack the dance floor. We use to dance our asses off to this. I remember sitting in the club and this song would come on and people would be running to the dance floor. Man, what fun memories. What has happen to music today?
Andre’s hair looks really nice
the shade is that he dances with a women while jody dances with a gay man i n still a thrill. Fabulous art here boy!!!!!!!!!
Joy in repitition and this are my all time favorite songs. then the others come in there place.
@enmaxus What clubs and which city i missed it. Damn!!!
Anatole Marcel ellard would be 33 in 1999. like this other dude in a musical family.
Skirt into that dance people. the light will lead you right to burn the heck up!!!!
get ready to drive to Town funky!!!! read my lipps drive people just drive!!!
u can thank prince for prducing thhis song.
love hearing wendy and lisa in the background…. Damn I love this song funky as hell!
Love this song, it’s crazayy, haven’t heard it in sooo long. Even though I’m a major prince fan, it seemed, with this song, he tried to clone himself off a little. I would’ve liked it better if prince just performed it.
This song would have been 10times better had Prince performed and released it. But whatever, Andre did it well. I hated when he left playing with Prince though!!
@daphnerh1984 I disagree, AndrĂ© made the song. But, I think Prince recorded it too. Maybe he didn’t release it officially, but I have a vague memory of hearing his version, perhaps on a bootleg. The folks over at prince.org would know more.
@missfunkyflyy yeah prince did record it too unreleased, i like his version better, i heard it on The Work.
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! I have been looking for this song!!!
I love Andre Simone, I love all of Prince’s former band mates, Wendy and Lisa, Monte Moir, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis all of them are incredible musicians and songwriters, this vid takes me back
This should have been on the ‘Around The World In A Day’ album or ‘Jesse Johnson’s Revue’ album. Everyone I knew SWORE this was JJ when it came out.
This is tru old school!!!!!! Damn it takes me back!!! I ‘ve been looking for this track online or anywhere & still haven’t had any luck….Any help
Whoah!
Take me back to 1985!
New York Hot Tracks Video Show!
Andre so fine…always dug this jam
Can somebody tell me what is that clip that flashes briefly at the beginning of this video? I looks like two gay men hugging each other. Who or what is that?
This reminds me of that Prince interview by Dick Clark … hella painful, I don’t know who I feel sorry for more… the Host or Andre
Living in the NEW WAVE was a type album too
@ rayzencent I feel sorry for that jheri curl. That’s what I feel sorry fo’! Somebody do the follow up interview and have him talk about his musical collaboration and marriage to Jodi Whatley.
he talk more than prince, but this my first time heraing of him and i’m a huge prince fan.
That is a ugly outfit!
@19832006
Lol’s , it sure is!
@Rid Prince and Morris was in his band before Prince formed his own band and the time thats a fact.
Listen…Andre started Grand Central…Prince was kicked out of his unstable household…Andre’s mother,Bernadette, put a roof over Prince head…Prince said Andre is the only cat who is as good as him.
Thought he was going to be an aloof idiot at first but he opened up in the end. Not quite sure what the benefit of the relentless laaaydaaay questioning was. How I wish I could be back at the start of the 80′s again…..*sigh*
Oh shit…the Scene in Detroit with that jheri curl cat Nat Morris. LMAO…man this stuff brings back some serious memories. Andre Cymone was large in Detroit.
I think I read somewhere that Andre wrote and co-wrote a lot of Prince’s earlier material. But Prince refused to give him credit. So that, along with Prince becoming more and more of a dictator led to Andre’s departure from the band.
Apparently he left right before the release of The Rebels, which were supposed to be a hard rock outfit including him, Dez, Dr. Fink, and Bobbie Z.
Wow. I watched The Scene religiously! It’s 6:00 and it’s time to rock, we rock nonstop til 7:00, we don’t stop!! I leaened how to dance watching this show. Prince always had love for Detroit.
People wanna criticize the jheri curl still ,but no one will say nothing about these brothers with their pants saggin below their asses. Laugh and say something about that shit!!!
WOW! Prine & Morris were inhis group, grand central.
did he really call prince a group wtf
Awww look at my uncle dre !
Look @ big cuz..! Big motivation for my career..
Morris and Prince where in His group! Of all the lads from Minn, A Cymone was our Favourite ^_^
